The V20 Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) is a dedicated space for dialogue and discussion with the senior officials of the V20 member states. The SOM is focussed on financing initiatives of the V20, and on advocacy and partnership efforts for countries most threatened by climate change. The main aim of the SOM is to bring the senior officials up to speed on all developments in the V20 work programme so that they are fully equipped to brief their finance ministers before the ministerial dialogue.

Building on the previous meetings of the V20, especially the October 2023 Ministerial Dialogue of the V20 Finance Ministers and the September 2023 Senior Officials’ Meeting, the proposed virtual meeting will present an update on the transition of the CVF-V20 to an independent organisation, which is currently underway, present an update on major initiatives spearheaded by the V20 including an update on the International Financial reform agenda, the implementation of the Accra-Marrakech Agenda, and the progress made on V20 Climate Prosperity Plans. The SOM, in particular, will solicit inputs on the tentative agenda of the upcoming V20 Ministerial Dialogue that will take place during the Spring meetings of the World Bank/IMF.
