Thank you Mr. Chairman. And greetings from Samoa. Firstly, Samoa acknowledge and welcome the support and initiative from the G7 to help address the vulnerabilities of members.
We would welcome the experiences and best practices shared from other countries to consider for our vulnerable states and we support a fit for purpose and practical instruments appropriate for vulnerable states in the Global Shield activities to ensure all members have access to the readily available stand-by financing instruments and facilities to respond to disasters. We continue to advocate for increased allocation from MDBs and financial institutions for disaster and climate financing facilities and streamlining Global Shield action in support operation is recommended for small islands as a matter of ease of access to climate finances.
Mr. Chairman, we welcome the initiative on social protection system in the Global Shield in order for our people to better respond and adapt to future shocks while addressing social issues. Thank you.
